Been watching your vids since a Chicago hot dog video of all kinds and have been here ever since. Just a nice couple presenting good info about the food available locally and beyond. I love to watch you when you take that first bite! You folks love good food! If for no other reason, that would make y'all my friends. I live here in the center of South Cakalaky and I do like a little BBQ now and then. The hash here is the thing for me. David Hite's in West Columbia is the best.

Maybe someone commented already, but that abomination double 'Chicago' dog? No it's not. Everyone knows the best beef's come from the countless neighborhood/local small-time joints...either yer own or one that you 'discovered'. These tourist lists are always a cliché fest. Please, enough with the deep-dish too, no one orders that.

There's nothing about "tavern style" that is from Chicago. That's just a general midwestern pizza that's everywhere in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, etc.

I love Portillos but definitely not for Italian beef, it’s crap, not johnnies not even in top ten, Al’s is shit, never had duck inn, mr beef is maybe in top ten but scoobies is number one, Anthony’s number two, beef buona third, You picked the McDonald’s of Italian beef and said it was better then the Morton’s of steaks wtf. Chicago tries hard...but outside of Chicago Dogs they should leave well enough alone. New York for pizza and Philly for a cheese steak. Most Italian Beef is made out of Chuck Roast....a pretty cheap cut of meat. Way overpriced on some of these. I mean come on Chicago...you used to be one of the top slaughter yard hubs in the northern US. Chuck Roast for what is supposed to be your best sandwich??

There is a place in Indy ran by an ex Chicagoan. Very authentic. We are very lucky to have him. I lived in Chicago for years so I know authentic. Great Chicago dogs also.

Vic’s on the River for there Oyster Po Boy! Leopold’s for the coffee and the unique ice cream flavor’s.

Best in the state is Snow’s in Lexington….hands down….

Pequods is the best and Lou’s is great too. For thinner I like piece pizza. Au cheval is good but long wait. Basically get the same burger at small cheval and walk right in. Another good burger is Mini Mott in Logan square. The biggest hidden gem in the city is Crisp Korean fried chicken on broadway. Get wings with Seoul sassy and Korean bbq. Another great place is Irazu for Costa Rican food on Milwaukee. Do rite donuts are the best and Stan’s donuts are great as well.
